  1. Updating to HourWorld™ 2.0+ from Version 1.0.x
  2.  
  3. HourWorld™ 2.0 and later use a registration key system to enable full features. This is a 
  4. change from previous versions, and a change from the registration system used in beta 
  5. versions of 2.0.
  6.  
  7. This new system saves your registration and preferences information in a file called
  8. "HourWorld™ Prefs" in the preferences folder inside your system folder.  As long as this
  9. preferences file remains intact, updating to a new version is just a matter of downloading
  10. the new version and running it.

  12. If you are updating from a version of HourWorld™ prior to ver. 2.00, you will need to
  13. obtain a registration key.  Contact Paul Software Engineering via email at

  17. Once you have registered HourWorld™ 2.0 or later, you may wish to protect your registration
  18. info against a hard drive failure or other accident by making a copy of the "HourWorld™ Prefs"
  19. file and saving it to a backup location.  Alternatively, keep a copy of our email, invoice or
  20. receipt with your registration key information.

  22. If your "HourWorld™ Prefs" file is lost or damaged, HourWorld™ 2.0 or later will revert to 
  23. running as the feature-limited HourWorld™ Lite.  While we are happy to email replacement
  24. keys free of charge in case of hard drive failures or other accidents, we recommend making a 
  25. backup of the preferences file or our message to you with the registration key.
